Online Storage and Backups

Note - This post has been paid for by iBackup.com. Without the support of great companies like iBackup we wouldnt be able to operate this blog.

Online Storage and backups are becoming increasingly more popular. Whats the point of creating a backup on DVDs, portable hardrive etc and keep it sitting next to your computer. If your PC gets destroyed than chances are so will your backup. The solution is storing the backup offsite and thanks to a service like iBackup.com, the process is extremely simple and cost effective.

$9.95 p/m will get you 5gb of storage which is very good value for money and I couldn’t find a cheaper price from a company I would be willing to trust my data with. But what really makes iBackup stand out from the crowd is the fact they offer a great array of free software to use in conjunction with their online storage. I would definitely like to try out the iDrive software which creates a local drive on your PC or Mac and allows you to drag and drop files. They also offer iDrive Mulitmedia for streaming of video and audio content.

iBackup.com would suit small businesses to a tee, and I can also see that their service will becoming invaluable for me when im traveling around and need fast and secure access to my files.

Reviewing Sponsored Reviews

Guess What? This post has been paid for by Sponsored Reviews

First there was PayPerPost, then came ReviewMe and now theres SponsoredReviews.   The service is closer to the ReviewMe side of things, as the blogger can choose how much they want to set per review.

Most importantly (and this should have been your first question) disclosure is required, which is probably the most important thing.  If you’re going to include ads on your site, make sure people know they are ads.

The biggest difference between ReviewMe and this one, is definitely price.  These guys will take 35% cut whereas RM is robbing you with a massive 50%.

Another nice feature is the ability to bid.  So you can negotiate the “perfect” price with the advertiser or blogger.  Last but not least, the bi-weekly payouts are a big improvement on PayPerPosts 30 days.

I like it!  You can buy a review from me here

Isn’t Time You Did a Backup? (Sponsor)

Note: This post has been paid for by Backup Platinum one of the awesome companies who support this blog and its content!

It’s one of those things that we know we should do but don’t actually do it.  I’m talking about backup! I personally have worked on one too many startups that have lost huge amounts of data because a regular backup didn’t take place.

Backup Platinum is a great solution for looking after one of your most valuable assets - data.  There is nothing I like more then an application that features simplicity as a feature and Backup Platinum fits right into this category.  This nie piece of software features everything needed to backup your data on CD, DVD, FTP or Lan.  Other features include 128 bit encryption, ZIP compression,  schedules and disk spanning support.

I think this product would be the perfect backup application to small to mid size businesses ie. Net Startups.

I downloaded the 30 free trial and decided to use this software to backup all my data related to the Tap Media Network.  I went for the backup to FTP option and it worked faster then I had expected (plus the zip compession was ultra handy).

Pricing of the app starts at $67 and I also noticed on their website that they are offering 6 months free hosting for Think Host. Bonus

Share Files With Box.net

Note - This post has been provided by a sponsor - ie. the cool people who keep this blog ticking over

Box.net a great file hosting and sharing service has launched a free widget that allows you to share files and stream podcasts, audio, videos, photos.

Box.net’s free account gives you 1gb of space and you can upgrade to receive more. But the best bit is the unlimited bandwidth. I know from my website that whenever I offer a download, it chews right through my bandwidth. I have already started sharing files using Box and you will notice that most downloads on Tap will be available through this widget.

Here is a sample of a wdiget I created. It includes an Ebook (offline marketing strategies) and a graphics pack full of royalty free people. Enjoy!

Customers Not Clicks (Sponsor)

Note - This post has been paid for by a company cool enough to advertise on the Tap Blog (I was bored with the old disclosure)

What really matters - customers or clicks? Unfortunately most search marketing companies choose to focus on click-throughs yet a click wont guarantee a sale. Yet Apogee Search Marketing is taking a new look approach.

I wont bother explaining to you the value of an advertising program such as Google Adwords. Instead I will explain why it is importance of using a company like Apogee for your next marketing campaign. Instead of tracking visibility, Apogee uses precise conversion rates to create what one could say “The perfect campaign”. Its also important to mention that Apogee is a Google Qualified Company.

Cheap Broadband (Sponsor)

Note - Sponsors play a very important role here at TAP. By supporting our sponsors you are also supporting us!

How does a free month of broadband sound? Pretty good! But what if I told you that Eclipse Internet will also give you a free wireless router.  I have heard of broadband providers giving away free modems but not a free wireless router!

Available from just 14.99 and with speeds upto 8mbps this is a great deal.  They also have some other great features like a $30 bonus when you introduce a friend.

9/10 people say that they would reccomend Eclipse to a friend and are satisfied with the overall experience.  But I will leave it up to you.  Do any Tap readers also use Eclipse let me know! I would love to hear your experience. And also let me know if you can find another ISP that will give you one month free plus a free wireless router.
