Deskload provides a Different Way To Bookmark

I’ve been using Del.icio.us for bookmarking for a long time now, but I have always wanted a more visual approach to organizing and browsing bookmarked links.

Deskload seems to have filled this void by creating an online bookmarking app that resembles the desktop. Its very simple, and thats what I like. To add a bookmark, just select a title, URL and icon and it will be added to your online bookmarking desktop. So essentially you are organizing bookmarks in the same way you would desktop icons.

Its great to see some innovation in the bookmarking arena as it was starting to look a bit stale.

Watch TV Shows and Movies Free with Graboid

Graboid is a free software program that allows you to download and watch over 60,000 TV shows, movies and more online. I downloaded the software and was impressed by the selection of TV show episodes I was able to watch for free. Download times were extremely fast and the quality of video was just like watching the shows on a regular television. I was able to watch entire episodes of my favorite tv shows without a single break in the video streaming. I recommend you try the software out for yourself and see just how vast Graboid’s selection of shows really is.

Free File Hosting with Hotlinking

There are plenty of websites that offer free file hosting, but I couldnt find one that allowed hotlinking.  This was because most of the free providers generate income through advertising, and if you hotlink to the hosted files you by-pass the ads.

Well the good news is I have found what looks to be a perfect free file hosting solution that allows hotlinking - FileDen!  You et 1gb of space and 5gb of bandwidth.  The only drawback is the 50mb file size limit.  But its free!

Check it out (im excited) at FileDen.com

Sorry about the lack of posts recently.  I have been super busy after various assets of Tap are being acquired.

Shhh….its a secret!

Im not going to go about spilling all my secrets on a blog like this, because I know a lot of people read many of whom I know.  It seems that the days of the online journal - what the blog was intended to be, are numbered.

Yet, I came across an Australian startup that is putting the secrets back into blogging.  HiddenLives.com.au is allowing you once again to reveal your hidden self to the rest of the world….secretly.

They give you suggestions to help you reveal your inner thoughts like - “Before I Die I will” and you just fill in the rest.   Other members can give your inner thoughts “votes of appreciation”.

Hiddenlives wont blow you away but it is a nice take on traditional blogging.

Your Stuff on Show

I came across Sharade today, which provides a “digital face” for your stuff.  You use Sharade to show, organize, and sell real things.

For example you can put all your books or movies on a digital shelf for the rest of the world to see.

All this on its own seems pretty cool, but what really caught my eye was their barcode scanning feature.   You can use your webcam or digital camera to import items directly into your virtual shelves.

The site is still in Private Beta and im looking forward to taking a more thourough look through the app.

How To Feel All Warm & Fuzzy - Web 2.0 Style

It’s only in this day and age, where a new startup is created everyday, to simplify tasks which already seem simple enough. Karma Exchange is no exception, simplifing the process of sending….well, Karma.

Karma is sent in the form of “warm and fuzzy” messages. These messages or Karma, is tracked and you can see just how much good your message has done.

And whats more, if you can’t think of anything nice (or warm and fuzzzy) to say, then gather inspiration from the Karma gallery full of others karma.

Its a social network for Karma! Whatever will be next.

Cashing In On Widgets

First there was PayPerPost.com which paid you to place sponsored posts on your blog and now there’s PayPerWidget.com which will pay you to display a widget.

PayPerWidget comes from the people behind Sniperoo (widget platform) and it looks like it will be closely integrated with their existing system.   At this stage, its in a very early beta stage and I couldn’t find anymore information on how much they will actually plan on paying bloggers and site owners.

But one things for sure.  Theres going to be a lot less controversy when PayPerWidget gets up on its feet compared to PPP.

I Bet That You Will….

BetsGoWild is a new startup that allows anyone to bet on anything!  These guys are the first legal, on-line betting community.  Why? Because instead of using cash, you bet using the sites own currency - wildbucks.  There is no money involved at all.

So what can you place a bet on?  Well, actually you can place a better on absolutely anything.   You earn points for starting and placing bets and those with the most points win weekly prizes.   Plus the top user, the top earned user, and the wildest bet will also win a Wii.   The site is relatively small at the moment so nows the time to join (and start winning).
