MySpace News Blows
Apparently MySpace news is meant to be taking on Digg and after reading the countless news stories (many from Fox) I almost believed that my beloved Digg, maybe had a competitor.
Yet these evil thoughts were soon crushed when I actually decided to take a look at the site to do a review. Two words came to my head “This Blows”
The Myspace News service gets its stories from “trusted” sources. Yet the quality and range of stories left a lot to be desired. Maybe its just me. The “Top Stories” located on the front page included news on an “American Idol” getting a hair cut and two other stories, that surprise surprise were related to Fox.
MySpace news allows users to vote on stories. Now you would expect that a site that has millions of users would have no trouble with people voting on stories. Yet the top story on the frontpage had 9 votes (probably from Tom and Mr Murdoch) and with average of 2. Maybe the “bimbo” target demographic hasn’t quite figured out the complexities of submitting a vote.
So in conclusion, if youre after the latest news on a celebrity haircut or another child being “rescued” by Madonna then MySpace News if for you. However, if you like a like a little more….quality, you can’t go past Digg.

Yeah, I have to agree. Something is seriously lacking with that news service. Its ugly too… like most of the MySpace pages.
Well, I cant agree more.
